Gabrielle Durr of Clarks Summit earned the spring 2018 Dean’s Award with Distinction.
Durr is a member of the Colgate University Class of 2019 and a graduate of Scranton Preparatory School.
Students who receive a term grade point average of 3.6 or higher while completing at least three courses during the spring 2018 semester earn the Dean’s Award with Distinction.
Durr’s current major is English.
College of New Jersey
Sondra Lionetti of Clarks Summit earned placement on the spring dean’s list at The College of New Jersey. To achieve this honor, a student must carry 12 or more credits in the semester and earn a 3.5 (or above) grade point average.
Lionetti is majoring in chemistry.
Washington University in St. Louis
Jacob Linker and Sam Linker, both of Dalton, were named to the spring dean’s list at Washington University in St. Louis.
To qualify for the dean’s list, students must earn a semester grade point average of 3.6 or above and be enrolled in at least 14 graded units.
Both students are enrolled in the university’s College of Arts and Sciences.
Jasmin Patel of South Abington Township is completing summer research at Wilkes University.
Ken Klemow, professor of biology and geoenvironmental science, Donald Mencer, associate professor of chemistry, and William Terzaghi, professor of biology are working jointly with students. The research goals are to complete the inventory of resveratrol and its derivatives in the various parts of male and female plants, and to complete the study of resveratrol synthesis in germinating seedlings. The students will work on creating plants that can synthesize resveratrol on demand.
Patel is a biology major.
