State gaming grants totaling $1,010,000 have been awarded for several local projects, including Waverly and Glenburn townships. The projects include:

■ $300,000 to Old Forge Borough to renovate the municipal building and police headquarters.

■ $205,000 to Taylor Borough to renovate the gymnasium of the Community Center.

■ $125,000 to the Greater Carbondale YMCA for lower-level renovations at its facility.

■ $100,000 to Dickson City to convert a vacant building into a community center for residents and organizations.

■ $100,000 to the United Cerebral Palsy of Northeast PA to purchase two wheelchair vans fitted for ADA accessibility.

■ $80,000 to Glenburn Township for the purchase of an F-550 maintenance vehicle for general maintenance, snow removal and salt application.

■ $50,000 to Mayfield Borough for the purchase of a Ford Interceptor SUV for the police department.

■ $50,000 to Waverly Township for the purchase of a Ford Interceptor patrol car for the police department.

The Local Share Account funds from casinos located in host and contiguous counties are distributed by the Department of Community and Economic Development within Gov. Tom Wolf’s administration and are designed to help economic development, job training, community improvement and public interest projects.
